New TV Series layout coming soon

Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:14 am

Hi dear users, admins,

today I made backup of site, and I am running the scripts, which split TV-series uploads to multiple CD (episodes...), all data are copied, so it means, it looks like many duplicate subtitles are on the site, which is not true. Old subtitles are disabled. TV-Series uploads are identified to series/episodes.

This process will be finished in approx 20 hours, then we check how it is going. There are many subtitles, which can not be identified, I guess it will be around 5000 subtitles, maybe more, but we got a list, so slowly they can be checked, and corrected.

So TV-Series support is coming, just stay tuned, and if you see something weird, please let me know in this thread.

Omerta - yes, tv series are separated to single uploads. Only in this way is tv-series support possible.
For renaming titles - nope, admins dont have to rename anything, in 99% are subtitles parsed properly. That means, for example, if they was uploaded under "lost" (as tv series - main imdbid), and filename, releasename, moviename and so on, are parsed for tv series pattern, so system put them under correct imdb.

In that way, site will know everything, what needs to know, and I can generate nice pages like here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1104

The basics is to have data. Then I can present those data in various ways.

Series support - try to click advanced search, and you will see form for episode and season. it should work, it should filter, but system is parsing subtitles, and now is just on IDSubtitle = 157.000 approx. So it needs more time to finish.

For renaming - correcting subtitles, in admin section, report section, there is another link, and those subtitles are wrong in 99%, so they needs to be checked, but of course, this have time. Usually no season, episode can not be parsed, or there doesnt exists imdbid for them (episode imdbid), because not everything is on imdb.com

It is more clear now ? :)

Boss, I can't find the series upload from last week? I went into desperate housewives (no one laugh please) and nothing for the last couple of weeks is there in order. How can you find the subtitles loaded previously if they're not in order? It's the same with "the walking dead." In the English section (recent uploads) if you click on page 2, that takes you to uploads made in 2007. This is weird!

did you upload those subtitles ? Check from your uploads. Otherwise, yes, we will got couple of days mess, and hard to find some subtitles, but I am working on it, everything seems to be OK for now. Database needs to be updated, series parsed, indexes reloaded. I hope within 12 hours it will be much more better results and I am also working on page for tv series, so everything will be on one place.

Don't panic :)

Also, if you want to see, what is uploaded in past days, please check again "advanced search", there is possibility to search in past X days. Also it is possible to set the date via "subdate" parameter in search

I understand that, boss. My query is the same as goffini's. This is the recent upload section of English: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/ ... uageid-eng When I click on page 2, it takes me to subtitles that were uploaded in 2007 (depending when you check this, it might be page 3). That means I can't correct all the recent uploads that were uploaded yesterday and may be uploaded incorrectly. What can we do to check the recent uploads section? If all else takes its time to set in, this section should at least be undamaged so the admin can stay up-to-date in correcting the recent uploads.

Page 92 and I don't like to have subtitles on my name I never uploaded with wrong releases.

guys, to clear these things:

1. TV-Series (that means subtitles uploaded to IMDB like www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/ ) subtitles are splitted, when there are 2CDs and more - they was splitted today morning.
2. Now they are parsed for episodes, that means, I just change the imdbnumber, for example to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0636289/ - only in this way is possible to support TV Series.
3. If you will find subtitles, you never uploaded, tell me URL. I think the reason is, why you can find these subtitles is simple. Let's say somebody uploaded 10CD version for LOST, subtitles was uploaded as anonymous. Now you are trying, as logged-in user to upload 1CD of those subtitles, so your name is as uploader of those subtitles. This works either if it is 1 subtitle or 10. I can check URL you sent me, if old subtitles was under your name. Because while spliting subtitles, nothing else is done, than copy the rows for subtitle - all the information, and just link to file is changed, so in the place stays download count, upload date, uploader, etc etc - all the information.
4. if you want to see recent subtitles, please do it like this:
- use advanced menu in search and set the for how many last days you want to see subtitles, for example http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/ ... badddate-3
- type the date into query, something like: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/ ... 30.10.2011
- site support also subaddunixdate, but I dont think you will use this one :)

Please, don't delete any subs yet, parser is still working on it, I think it will finish within 5 hours (I hope). Then, we can look on problems :)

I hope I clear the things, whats going on, if you got more questions, let me know.

Re: TV Series coming soon

I get now problem with uploaders and searchers, seachers can't find subtitles, subtitles from yesterday and before, they send me messages on ondertitel.com.
And there are series put on uploaders who only put some subtitles and have now many series on their name.
And I don't like as I told before have subtitles on my name, I never uploaded.
So I can now answer people about the sittuation like this as an example:

Groetjes Ruud

Goffini, please send me URL of YOUR subtitles, you did not upload (URL OF SUBTITLES, not search results), so I can check.

I show you, how to list subtitles upload for last days. It is possible I can change it for a while (if it will be not big trouble for mysql, so they will be sorted according the date by default, now it is by IDNumber, as I wrote, because thats easy). Anyway, I will try to change it now for date, and we will see how it will perform.

Ok, now subtitles are sorted by uploading date. It seems performance is OK, so I let it as default.

What do you think, that I am going to search for 600 subtitles, which were before on my name on page 1 until 12 and now they are elsewhere.
And then sending you 600 urls of them....
For example I found now: The.Simpsons.S20E**.PDTV.XviD-*** on http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/search/ ... ffset-3300 and some here:
http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/search/ ... ffset-3350, never uploaded.
House.S04.DVDRip.XviD-ORPHEUS on http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/search/ ... ffset-3550 and http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/search/ ... ffset-3600 and http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/search/ ... ffset-3650, to many subtitles I never uploaded.
