does avi movie player supports arabic subtitles?

Thu Feb 08, 2007 5:03 pm

I have downloaded some arabic subtitles for prison break. But when I open it in the Avi Movie player I cannot see them correctly. I just see something like: :ccc'c'cCCCCII AA.

After that I downloaded the subtitle workshop. But there i can see the arabic subtitles fine.

So my question is, is it because of the avi movie player that I cannot read the subtitles correctly? What do I have to do? If you answer this question please keep in mind that I do not know much about computers, so keep it simple. Thankx

Go to your player's subtitles properities and go to font settings. Choose arabic script. It should work.

In subtitle workshop on the left side you have drop down menu, Probably there's "ANSI" selected, if you select "Arabic" you'll see your subs porperly also in subtitleWorkshop

I have done what you "worst" told me, but it still doesn't work. Ichanged the font to arabic. does not work.

As I said in the subtitle workshop I don't have any problems. I can view the video with the arabic subtitle there, but the screen of the video is too small to watch it properly. I want a full screen ofcourse.

It's weird... did you downloaded the subtitles from this site?? Give me URL

About the subtitleWorkshop. I didn't red it properly :D

Of course you don't want to watch video in subWorkshop (well, in the worst case resize the preview window) :D

http://www.opensubtitles.org/nl/subtitl ... n-break-ar.
This is the URL. I have now done something else, it isn't great but at least I can watch the video: I play the movie in subtitle workshop with the arabic subtitle and at the same time I play it in my movieplayer so that I can make the screen bigger. The disadvantage of this is that the 2 movies have to play precisely at the same time...I'm open for suggestions.

OK, I tried those subtitles in BSPlayer, Media Player Classic and VLC... and it works fine in all of them.

Go to your player's Subtitles/font properities again and choose font "Arial" and then script "Arabic", don't use some special fonts. Tell me if it works. In the other case tell me which player you're using.

Worzt
