Help me please...

Mon Sep 10, 2007 6:17 pm

Hi all,

I am new to here.
I too use the same software ConvertXtoDVD for incorporating the subtitles to the movies.
And as i believe, the Frame rate of the movie and subtitle need to be equal to have a synchronized subtitles with the movie.
In here, i am unable to find the frame rate for the subtitle files which i downloaded.
Could anybody tell me, How to find out the frame rate for a particular downloaded subtitle file?

Thanks in advance,
Kalyan.

A .sub file will sometimes give you the frame rate right in the beginning, and yes the frame rate is important for .sub files which are timed based on frames. For example one subtitle will be displayed for a given number of frames.

Contrast this to .srt files which are based on time. Each subtitle is shown for a given number of seconds, and therefore the frame rate is not that important.

However because PAL and NTSC use different frame rates, the films usually differ in length, and therefore an .srt file based on a PAL video probably will be out of synch if used for an NTSC video.

You can try to synch your subtitles with Subtitle Workshop first.
