Can't start program

Thu Jan 18, 2007 3:48 pm

I have Win2k SP4 running and cannot start the program. After starting the .exe I see only a message telling me that an error occured.

SubDownloader.exe.log says:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last): File "SubDownloader.py", line 20, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module File "wx\__init__.pyo", line 44, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module File "wx\_core.pyo", line 4, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 91, in load_module ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading wx\_core_.pyd
Do you have any ideas?

yes, this is known win2k SubDownloader bug - better written it is WXPython bug. Download and put gdiplus.dll into system32 directory or in same directory as SubDownloader.exe (it must be visible to windows)

I will also update FAQ.

I followed the above instructions (downloaded gdiplus.dll, copied to installation folder), and I am still getting the same error. Did I forget a step? Thanks in advance for any help.

Same Error, in WinXP SP2 pt-br

Mon Jan 22, 2007 6:25 pm

I have the same error in Win XP SP2 pt-br. Tried to put gdiplus.dll on system32 and on SubDowloader.exe path but didn't work. returned this error in SubDowloader.exe.log:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last): File "SubDownloader.py", line 20, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module File "wx\__init__.pyo", line 44, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module File "wx\_core.pyo", line 4, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 91, in load_module ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading wx\_core_.pyd
Would be my windows problem? Or SubDowloader bug?

P.S. I have 1.2.3 version recently downloaded.

I will ask programmer, what should be the problem. Maybe ZIP library doesnt like your regional settings, try to change it to english and we will see. Please report back, if that was the error.

My error log is the same as sextafeira's. All of my regional settings are configured as English (United States). I am on WinXP Pro SP2 with the newest version of Subdownloader (1.2.3).

One of the reasons for this problem is compressing the executables prior to compiling.

Could you:

1.-Try compiling with no compression (no matter the final size)?

2.-Provide the source code for 1.2.4.1? (currently only the source for 1.2.3 is available.
