Try one of these:

1.in your Browsersettings under options/security change the point "METAREFRESH enabled" to disabled. This will deactivate the automatic change to another site

or

2. if you go to http://www.imdb.com, then add "/ncr" to the adress, e. g. http://www.imdb.com/ncr. This means "no country redirect"

or

3. use a free proxy server

Sorry

Cause I not have this problem and use the FF instead the IE, I couldn't test this, but it works an many sites, who refer you to another site after a lot of seconds.
see here: http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/disable- ... resh-ie-8/

And the /ncr-Tag also works on many sites i. e. Google.
I apologize for not testing the link with the addon in my post.

But the third way should do it.

Sorry
no problem.
plus i never used some proxy server and i wont start.
I also created new profile in FF, deleted ggltoolbar, tried different things that didnt solve the problem...
I start to think that imdb is responsible.

Next option: in the FF go to \Options\Content, klick on Languages, select English, move it up on the first place, remove all other items, erase the cache and history and restart the browser.

I registered on imdb, sent them an email, here is there answer:
"We recently modified the way titles are displayed on the site. Users will now by default see titles listed in the language used for release in their country (i.e. US-based users will see films listed under the title used for the North American release, while users browsing the site from France will see titles as they appeared on the French release of those movies etc.)
If you are registered on IMDb.com and you prefer to see original titles, or the title in any other language/country of release by default, you can set your user preferences accordingly."
So i need to login (and to accept cookies) to read the original titles. I just sent them an other mail to protest against their decision...

Maybe you should clear your browser's cookies?

hi all,

as IMDB::FIlm perl module is also affected with this I made my own research. Problem is, imdb.com is looking up back to your IP, so when you are accessing from France, it will give you back French name. Only way, how to change it is using proxies, or to set cookies. Problem with cookies are, their contents are encoded, so it is not easy to set right cookies (or even possible, I didnt have time to debug this).

I have to say mildly on topic, that what IMDB has done is one of the sloppiest and crappiest web redesign I have ever seen.

Not aesthetically (IMDB was never the prettiest kid in the block, and they don't seem to want to be) but programmatically. The "New" imdb, which mixes up languages in the same page (texts in english and other languages in the same paragraph, for example) is an awful design decision.

There's not much that can be done, as IMDB keeps having the largest DB of all, but maybe it's time to rethink moving to freebase (fMDB takes care of this), TheMovieDB or some other project that's less hostile against API access.

Well, I’m cheesed off with them stripping the basic information. Before you could see the movie AKA halfway down the page, but I don’t think that exists anymore. Trivial (maybe) to your moans, but a moan nonetheless. I guess it’s something we’ll get used to overtime, like a bad smell.

I think it is also bad idea to mix texts, but somebody up thinks too much :) Anyway, imdb.com should support API access long long time ago.

For example, problem with registering is that, module for perl doesn't know how to login. It is just bad idea and I hope free websites with APIs will takeover soon.
