Goodafternoon,

Unfortunately my kodi don't work with Opensubtitles.com anymore. It says that it needs to be authenticated. I already fill in my login/password into the opensubtitles.com section in Kodi but without succes. even tried to reinstal my kodi-Build and changed my opensubtitles password. But even without succes. Any help would be appreciated.

we need log to fully understand. It should work, if you can login on www.opensubtitles.com and you are using opensubtitles.com addon in kodi, and you use same username and password...

try again or send log via contact us link bellow.

Hi,

My login is the same as on Opensubtitles.com, so it should be working, but it's still asking for authentication. How could i send a log i'm using a Nvidia Shield

I am having the same problem. Also using Kodi 20.3 and Serin. Error message says "Use User Name not E-mail Address". Started last night.

Same problem here. Trying to download a subtitle from opensubtitles.com returns "Unable to authenticate. Check your opensubtitles.com user name and password". Browser login to opensubtitles.com is successful but using identical username and password in Kodi (Build 20.3.2) addon fails.
Running under Android 13.0.0 on Lenovo Tab P12

Sorry about those errors, a contributor improved the way file data are recognised, but we didn’t change anything to the authentication, except for detecting when the email is entered instead of the username.

We’ll fix it asap, but we need someone to get us a log, so far it’s been tested on android, windows and mac, and previous issues with streamed movies have been solved so no clue how what could be the problem now.

Here is what I think is the related log. Let me know if you need more.

Thanks for the great work,

Oh we’d love to look at it, a couple users reported the same but no one could get us a log file so far.

If you can do that, please put kodi in debug mode and send us the full log. The part you picked only says kodi was unable to save the file, it might be unrelated to our addon

You can use the contact form on opensubtitles.com to send us the log

thanks for reporting the problem, is anybody actually able to send us log, so we can really look at it ?

Also would be good to know, on which devices you are running KODI. It seems, there is problem when saving subtitles to local storage (not enough rights, filename can be broken for that system, not enough space...)

But without log we can not do anything, because we dont have this problem - it is running in Mac OSX/Windows...

sorry, forgot to mention kodi must be in debug mode, here is a quick guide
https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Easy

for the authentication issues, please really make sure you have entered your username and not your email in the username field.

you should actually also be able to download 5 subtitles before being asked to enter the account information, please try too and let us know if that works.

Hello,

I've also been having problems with authentication on kodi. I just now finally got around to importing my account from .org. I think I might have figured something out:

I admit I didn't pay very close attention during the quite simple importing process, but something unexpected happened - my username became the part of my email before the '@'. If I look at my profile that is the username listed. That was NOT my username on .org. I changed the username from my old .org username to my new .com username in the addon settings and the kodi .com addon is properly authenticating now.

I don't recall entering a username when I logged into .com after following the 'new password' link in my email. I think I was automatically logged in after setting a password - although it is very early here and I am only a few sips into my coffee.

Perhaps others are also unaware that they now have new usernames?
