I am in the process of getting The Matrix 1,2 and 3 in sync.

Play the film and with the slider to the left or right I make sure the text is in sync with the sound.
This makes me notice that, in this case in The Matrix 1 (1999), there are a lot of sentences longer than 5 seconds, while the sub contains relatively little text.
Through a small control adh of the English sub, I notice that a lot of sentences in this film are abusively translated, or contain the bare minimum of text.
How do pros translate a film - listening or via a text file?
