IMDb Update Issues (New TV series)

Check now, went through with updating Sponge Bob Seasons 3-5 manually. Still need to review and go through the balance of the English side.

There are many reasons behind this type of sequence issue, for this series and many others. These include such as operator error, system glitches, comm issues and timeouts, non IMDB season and episode sequencing from alternate providers such as NF, AMZN, HULU….

OPERATOR ERRORS:
Review the Unclassified Section, and you will note a previous user who uploaded to Season 2, exceeding the actual episode count for that particular season:

Will not parse on batch upload and reroutes to unclassified. Has the potential for overrun into the next season 3 depending on upload parameters, and skew the order.

where this file naming does not agree with the episode. Many instances of multiple vignettes within a single episode being identified as multiple episodes instead of one, such as this case of S13E47E48 instead of singly to the IMDB S13E19. If and when the individual vignettes are segmented apart for the specific portion of the episode, then identification would list as S13E19a, S13E19b, etc……

This example worked only because the user properly uploaded to the correct individual IMDB ID, and not by batch upload and parse. Note that there are only 26 episodes for that particular season, not 47 and 48.

Future ID updates and parsing though, could have issues when it comes across mis-IDs and can throw series sync out of whack.

General Guidelines Uploading:

NON IMDB SEQUENCE:
Check and confirm IMDB season and episode agreements to subtitles before submitting. Much more difficult to correct after the fact.

Many users grab IDs straight off one of the services, using the season and episode designations from the provider. Many times these do not agree with IMDB, and can throw off the whole season-episode order when interspersed with the uploads that follow IMDB convention. Just because AppleTV says it’s season 1 episode 5, doesn’t make it so. Make sure to use “IMDB” season and episode numbering and ID.

NAMING NOMENCLATURE:
Many occurrences of wrong episode routing due to naming convention. Name an episode in the format of SxxEyy such as S01E05, S12E01, S03E22 to avoid parse issues. DO NOT add additional numeric values such as dates or IMDB ID "tt" numbers as some users do. This can create errors in parse.

there is no way the DB can process and parse with such a ridiculous naming convention.

COMM ISSUES:
Have seen instances when comm or timeouts occur with 503 or 524 error codes, either an unclassified data dump or a mis-id can occur. In almost all cases, the files have uploaded properly, just access and review your user profile uploads, and verify that all is correct. Keeping batch uploads in the 10-20 count will usually work fine on existing OS structure. For new series on OS, create the initial structure with one or two episodes prior to batch attempts.

Please note previous comment to you dated 11-22-2023 regarding IMDB glitches with new releases.

The subtitles that you have referenced were submitted just today, we are already aware of and are tracking.

For reference, recent changes in IMDB coding and report protocol can possibly create some issues with newer releases. In these instances, visibility will lag behind on OS for possibly one or two days.

Since you are uploading predominately new releases, many of these precede IMDB creation. In the cases where you pull new numbers as commented on 1-10-2024, future uploads when IMDB catches up will not be tied properly into structure and requires admins to go back in and correct these errant episodes.

Recommendation to OS contributors:

Please note that admins track most of the problematic subtitles related to the recent IMDB changes.

Before firing off a PM or a forum post about missing or non-visible subtitle, please be patient and just give the OS site a few days to sync up.

If after several days there is still an issue with your subtitles, please use the contact link at the bottom of the page. Please include all pertinent data and links, along with details of the issue.

Os, can you fix this.
I already tried the imdb update.
From the 2nd episode, the imdb is wrong.
When i upload the subtitles for ep.3, i get the imdb of 2.ep.
ep4, show the imdb of 3, etc.

because they are missing so much episodes, it is distaster. I was testing it and exactly stuff, which doesnt work here, they dont have also.
