[ADMIN] servers under attack

Hi all,

we got some server issues again. We don't know exactly why it is caused, it seems someone is attacking our domains, or just too many clients want connect :)

anyway, we know about this issue and will try to solve it. To the future, we will need move xml-rpc requests to another server, that means we probably make api.opensubtitles.org subdomain, and on api.opensubtitles.org/xml-rpc will be xml-rpc requests handled, so at least web servers will work, if something went wrong.

stay tuned.

update 1:
so, we have been under heavy attack, we got like 12.000 requests per second. Somebody "like" us.

To attacker: why you dont contact us directly?

We are still working on that, so servers should be more stable.

I can't help thinking some people being recently pissed off around the forums. Ahem ahem.

The only upside: I realised I had never coded for a 404 in my app. :?

eduo: exactly, I dont want point my finger, but...

anyway, these attacks lasts from the last big problems (everybody remembers), but in that time we did not realize that. Upside is, servers are ready for 10x more connections then now.

404 was only for testing purposes :) latest official lighttpd got some problems with some stuff, so...I can write a book about this...

anyway, hopefully it will work now much better.

just last thing: I am not sure, why there are so small xml-rpc users now, everything is working at your side ?

Will test right now. I had stopped all connections.

Fault code: [5] Reason: 'Didn't receive 200 OK from remote server. (HTTP/1.1 408 Request Timeout)'

Nope. XMLRPC is not working. I don't get any responses.

Should I be trying api.opensubtitles.org?

[ADMIN] XML-RPC working or not?

Hi there,

please write if:
- website is working for you
- xml-rpc is working for you (subdownloader or any other program)

we are playing with filtering attack packets, but it seems our rule is too restrictive.

This seemed to work last night for a moment then stopped working again. This morning it's not working yet.

Using this, there are errors in all methods and method listing where none were before:

All this sounds intresting. I hav not visited the forum for awhile, why would someone want to do that?

'Revenge is a dish best served cold' blah blah blah. But how can anyone on OS tick someone off enough for them do do that. I looked all over the forum for the signs of 'the battle', but to know avail.

Is it the topic entitled "Congratulations"???

My best candidate was moved to off-topic and locked out.

None. Is what you get when you search for nothing for any language.

eduo,

Thanks pal.
No problem. I wouldn't recommend getting too attached to it, though. It's leech city and will probably be closed down. OS is supposed to be used through searches and clients.
