The first step would be to convert your subtitle file into some decent subtitle file format (like .SRT)
Subtitle Edit would be a good help for this.
Keep in mind that not all videos will match all videos. You might have to synchronize it to your video file.
Then you will have a subtitle file, but not more than that.

Next you would need to add this into your video file container, either as option or as hard coded text into the video file.
No idea about Mac, but for Windows HandBrake is my favorite tool. This can convert etc, and while doing that, add the subtitles as you want.
