Re: Give us feedback about the new site opensubtitles.com

I noticed that this one doesn't exist on the new site, but all other episodes work fine:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... rnissen-de
if you click on "download (beta)" you can see where the subtitle was imported.
for this case the episode was saved as a movie.... it happens sometimes, if you notice us we can fix it (I didn't fix this one yet so you can see the issue)
Alright, thank you. I did try that earlier, but I just got an error page when I did that. Now I got to the movie page instead.

1. I already messaged you guys about the flags in the search input, and for a short while it was fixed, but now it's just back to how it was.

2. Often times when I visit the site I get an alert about AJAX having failed.

3. Way too many 503 errors this week, which either result in a 503 page, the download modal not showing up or the button with the timer not expanding. And refreshing the page in the latter case leads to daily quota filling up without actually haven gotten the chance to download anything yet.

Meanwhile I copied down the errors:

This is the one from point 2:
DataTables warning: table id=ajax_subtitles_datatable_530017 - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/7

And point 3:

When page fails to load:
Error 503 Backend fetch failed
Backend fetch failed
Guru Meditation:
XID: 223546223
Varnish cache server

When buttons don't work the following is in the console:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 503 ()

Also at times the download itself will fail with the message in Chrome: "Site wasn't available"

When I try to download AI translated subtitles, I start downloading but receive an error message that "Site wasn't available" :(
I tried changing different permission settings, tried using different browsers, I'll try using different ways and write back if I have success.
With regular subtitles I don't seem to have problems downloading but the issue comes when trying to download AI translated subtitles

Thank you for your work on the website :)

Website language changes when consulting a movie page

Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:34 pm

Hi

Not sure if this has been mentioned before.

Whenever I visit any movie or serie page the website's language changes randomly.
Sometimes it's BR, KM, ES, ...

yeah it happens sometimes, normally not too much. Some errors were added recently adding some needed caching for performances, it'll get fixed with the improved layout to come.

Is it a known issue that it's not always in sync with org?
Because there is this subtitle on org: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... -flight-hu
But not on com: https://www.opensubtitles.com/hu/movies ... -of-flight

On the other hand com lists alot of bogus subtitles under the title like this: https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtit ... x08-rewind
Where the [View on opensubtitles.org] takes us to: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... -flight-en
Demonstrating that com is bypassing the previously made moderation

Yeah it's a long running issue, over 99% of valid synchronisation, but there will always be problems as long as uploads go from opensubtitles.org.

for your case,
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... -flight-hu
is on opensubtitles.com, you can always use the button "download (beta)" to see where a subtitle on opensubtitles.org was imported
https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtit ... 3-x264-chd

I disabled the bogus example, still issue there as well obviously

we rely on user feedbacks to fix the synchronisation errors, if you find the error we obviously didn't find them, so if you have time for it you can alwyays send us a message

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but how much of org has been migrated over to com?
It still feels like on org I have access to way more and more reliable subs.

Example:
Beast Tamer: https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/tvshow ... ast-tamer
on com: shows 11 subs for the 3rd episode. Opening that episode only shows 9 entries. Mainly searching for english and german.
this is consistent for all the episodes. It shows 11 or more/less subs but contains less entries.

Beast Tamer: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/ssearc ... ie-1172524
on org: Each episode has english and german subs available for download

There's still around 50'000 problematic subtitles on nearly 7'000'000 subtitles, so 99.3 % of subtitles are fine, the other, most of the time in .ssa or ass format still make errors.

for your example if you check out the 2 missing subs, in german an arabic
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... species-ar
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... species-de

you'll see the files are filled with extra comas, those funky subtitles are a nightmare to parse
