Decoding Japanese subtitles

Tue Jan 26, 2016 12:33 am

Last year I posted a question regarding decoding Japanese and Korean subtitles.

The suggestion was made by @MarcoTC to request the data to be returned in UTF8. (Note: the syntax has changed since that post, a 'vrf' parameter is now required to avoid hard linking to files. See post here.)

Requesting the data be returned in UTF8 has resolved the issue for some subtitles, but not all. Sometimes, I receive the error: "Request failed: no longer exists (410)"

Does anyone know what this could be caused by and how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Sure, for example the request for 'The Dark Knight' in Japanese is:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1953192271

The response I get is:
Request failed: no longer exists (410)

ok, so

this works:

http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1953192271

this doesnt work:

http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1953192271
it write

Code: Select all

CRITICAL ERROR] Unable to change encoding from Non-compliant CP to UTF-8 !
with http response code '410 Gone'

In this case it can not detect source encoding.

EDIT: There is detected CP932, but non-compliant. I try to fix this for Japanese/Korean languages, so please try later, it should work
