Using subformat-vtt gives me a 503 error

Thu Sep 24, 2015 10:54 pm

I'm testing subtitles download for my app and I got the two following links:

SubDownloadLink=http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 4811695.gz
ZipDownloadLink=http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... n6/6230960

I need the subtitles on vtt format so I'm using the subformat-vtt param.

This:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 4811695.gz
Gives me a 503 error.

This:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... n6/6230960
Downloads fine but the file inside is srt.

This gives me critical error:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... n6/6230960

This gives me 503:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1954811695

So what am I doing wrong? how can I download the subtitles but on vtt format?

Thank you.

ok the are couple of things happening right now, if SRT is not in proper format, it will fails (overlaping timecodes, index not start with 1 and so on). We are working on fix, but this depends on external library, problems was reported.

I don't quite understand the question.

The file? It works. It depends on the player.

The link? Right now it doesn't.

I noticed if I download this file on srt then the accents look right:

http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... u1q2/31723

But If I download it in vtt then they don't:

http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... u1q2/31723

Am I just downloading with the wrong encoding or is that a bug?

Thanks.

This still gives an error: Error 503 Backend fetch failed
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1954897766

Could it be because of overlapping timings?

yes it is because of that.

this works ok:
http://dl.opensubtitles.org/en/download ... 1954811697

others have to try...it is handled by 3rd party lib and it was reported, waiting for fix.
