upload season as 1 zip

Mon Oct 25, 2010 6:15 am

There is nothing in the FAQ about uploading at all, (shouldn't there be?) and I found some old posts here that say the only way to upload a TV season is to upload each episode as a "CD".

Really? Instead of 28 SRT files in one zip I have to upload them one by one?

Hi,

You can’t upload more than 20CDs at a time anyway, but the preference is to upload them as single files. The reason to this is simple, in the next six/ten months (hopefully) the TV Series layout will change to make files easy to find and to download, in addition to this they should be in chronological order.

For the transition to be as easy as possible, it’s best to upload them separately, but you’re welcome to do whatever you want.

Using a subtitle uploader/downloader (like SubDownloader or even the integrated Java Applet from the web) should make uploading several SRTs completely painless. And it's true that separate upload will help down the line.

Doesn’t subdownloader upload files under the wrong IMDb? I ask because, I’ve been relentlessly deleting and correcting uploads (my guess, same user) for the past several weeks. Is there no way to improve this software or others like it - to make uploads more coherent.

everything was said. you can upload tv series as single files or multi files, I am sorry, but uploading as zip is not possible (even it might be good idea, I understand).

for subdownloader and wrong imdb - I dont am not aware of this problem.

It could be that SubDownloader was hit by the IMDB issue worse than the rest? (in the case of SolEol, it just wouldn't upload, so couldn't mismatch). I have reported dozens of incorrect iMDBids but I never checked if it was all by the same user, agent or what. The misses seemed consistently incorrect (not a lot of wrong IDs but always the same for each one), though.

I stand corrected, it was BSPlayer v2.56 (maybe for all of the uploads). And I'm pretty certain it's been happening before IMDb's changes commenced. He may be using the "autoupload" feature (since he uploads around 50 a day), even so, I think this should be better than it is.

I stand corrected, then.

I don't like the "autoupload" feature that much, because it assumes users are not lazy people watching things with the wrong subtitles and ignoring them. Seems to me a prime vector for dirtying the database.

Unless, of course, no anonymous uploads are allowed. As only users with the intention of uploading and knowing what they're doing would enable it.
