When searching for any movie title and the "Very advanced search" fields are visible and either IMDB or Movie ID field is filled, whatever your input in the search box is, it still shows results according to IMDB or Movie ID. Even if you hide the "Very advanced search" by clicking advanced search two times, it still shows the IMDB or Movie ID search results.

When submitting form data, the main search input field ("MovieName") should be the dominant field - I mean, there's a reason you enter a new title search, right? :)

Maybe this should be posted in feature requests... But, perhaps you could put a "Clear all fields"-link below the "multi search"-link if anything but the main search field is visible? This would clear all visible fields and show only main search field. Or, with some simple PHP;

Code: Select all

if (!empty($_POST["MovieName"])) { //do search based on $_POST["MovieName"] } else { //do search based on any other input field with switch {} or whatever you guys use :) }
Aight, that's my my $0.02 about the search.

Even though this is the wrong topic for it, I just have to say thanks for a bloody awesome site! Great features, easy to use, all around an intuitive interface (besides the search thingy), great content and good looks. Mad propz, y'all!

Just noticed something else: After I registered, on the main site, I was also registered on the forum. However, my email was not registered on the forum, preventing me from getting topic notifications. This is probably because I selected not to display my email in public when registering through the main page, but still something you might want to look at. Maybe it's not even a bug, but just a literal function - "hide email from everybody (myself included!)" :)

Sorry to be a massive pain in your asses with two bug reports so close to each other, just trying to help you guys improve.

Hello,

thanks for report, report anything you want to let me know. Here are two points:

1. you have right IMDBID and MovieID are important, but also moviename. In right searching shouldn't be find anything, coz every field is ANDed with other. Ok, but I know what you mean, I can do this: when you close (very) advanced search all fields will be deleted from (very) advanced search fields, what do you think ?

2. I have to look into code, I dont remember what is going with mail address :) Ok, I will fix that next week, just report...I want make this site better and better.

hi,

i eventually find an awesome easy-to-use junk-free subtitles website, so i guess i should help a little bit as well ;-)

Here is the step to reproduce the bug:

- let's have a big advanced search result by searching "axxo" in releease names
- go to page 2 to see further results
- pick a random movie, say The Marksman (2005)
- then you're supposed to see subtitles for this movie, but you actually see an empty list

this is because of the offset parameter in the URL which should not be passed on.

It shouldn't be

Code: Select all

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/offset-30/idmovie-10078
but rather :

Code: Select all

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/idmovie-10078

it is working now, thanks for bug report. Also, if you can, use SubDownloader to upload your great subtitles, I wrote that into your profile too

Thanks.

xhtml source errors (not real bugs)

Mon Dec 11, 2006 5:52 pm

Here are some source code related bugs (errors):

In XHTML 1.0 there is no language attribute in the script tag.
all language="javascript" should be deleted
(or replaced with type="text/javascript")

There is no name attribute in the form tag.
faulty: form name="searchform"

There is no target attribute in the a tag.
The following could be done using javascript:
a target="_blank" (link of SubDownloader)

There should be an alt attribute for all images.
(At least an empty one for design-only imgs.)

The end of the index file should be:
<noscript>
<img height="1" width="1" alt="" src="https://nht-2.extreme-dm.com/n2.g?login ... j=n&jv=n"/>
</noscript>
<div>
<a href="http://www.toplist.cz/"><img src="http://toplist.cz/dot.asp?id=216254" alt="TOPlist" width="1" height="1"/></a>
<a href="http://www.toplist.sk/"><img src="http://toplist.sk/dot.asp?id=218632" alt="TOPlist" width="1" height="1"/></a>
</div>
</body>
</html>

(the div tags were missing,
and the images had not allowed border="0" attibutes)

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... secrets-cs
Subtitle is on the server, but it is not listed in my profile and it can not be found via search engine. What did I do wrong?

Hi, I had try to upload some subtitles to this site, but their IMBD weren't recognized. It's a movie with 3 parts, its name is "Figersmith".
I could detect the IMBD on yahoo site, but I think this site not recognized the film yet.

Thanks for the attention.

it is "Fingersmith" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0423651/
yes, http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/imdblook/short-on seems to change a but search query, I will look on this issue, thanks for writing.

You can always upload subtitles, without searching IMDB ID on the site, but off the site. Just fill IMDB with 0423651 and that's it :)
