GUI translation for Open Source applications?

Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:08 pm

Hello,
I am an upstream maintainer of an open source backup application ("Back In Time"). One of my translators pointed me to this forum.

Beside English as the source language I do have 46 other languages supported currently. There completeness and translation activity differs of course.

I don't look for fresh translators but for reviewers. My problem is that I am not able to judge the quality of all the translations. This is because most of the languages do have only one translator. I am glad to even have translators. So I can not say I only use approved/reviewed translations. Most of them are not approved.

I don't want to waste more of your time here with details. My question in the beginning is if this forum/community might be a good place to ask for reviewing translators?

Thanks for your opinions and comments,
Christian
