Opening for English Language Administrator

To all OpenSubtitles contributors,

We are currently looking to fill a position for Administrator in the ever expanding English language section of OpenSubtitles.

In this role, the potential candidate would be required to perform basic admin duties on a daily basis in support of OpenSubtitles. Daily commitment is a requirement, due to the large quantity of submissions we receive. The time allocation is flexible though, and preferably, can be spread out over the twenty four hour time frame on any given day.

If you feel a desire to give back to the subtitling community, then we would like to hear from you. Please consider furthering of your contributions in an administration role.

Requirements:

• The prospective candidate should has a previous history on OpenSubtitles of at least two years.
• The prospective candidate has shown a sufficient previous skill set on OpenSubtitles.
• The prospective candidate is fluent in English speech and composition.
• The prospective candidate can fulfill the time requirements of performing daily tasks.
• The prospective candidate should not have any previous sanctions imposed. However, users with a clean slate of at least one year after sanctions lifted, may apply.
• Further details and materials would be made available, once accepted to the position.

Considerations:

For those prospective candidates, please give serious consideration prior to applying. This position is on an ongoing basis, and requires daily commitment.

This role is an unpaid and strictly voluntary position. However, there are a few incentives, other than the sense of altruism.

• Restrictions on downloads are waived. Unlimited downloads with an admin position.
• Ad and banner free.
• After fulfilling all active admin duties for a three year term, a lifetime VIP membership status on OpenSubtitles.

Hi,
Just noticed this post about looking for a volunteer for an English language admin. May I know if this position has been filled? If it has not, I'd like to be considered for it.

I used to post actively on subscene under the pseudonym spurt. But I have not done so recently due to health issues. I had a stroke approximately four years ago and although I have recovered most of my physical abilities, I went through depression as well. Since then, I am slowly getting better and have only been catchingwith shows and subs slowly.

I am located in Asia and able to commit at least 5-6 hours of my time in the afternoons and evenings which translates to mornings to late afternoon / early evening UK time. Do let me know if I can contribute in any way.
