plugin not working on my jellyfin server

Wed Dec 25, 2024 5:16 am

Hi all, I've looked around a bit and don't think that I've seen anyone with this same issue. I have the OpenSubtitles plugin installed on my jellyfin server and configured with my user/password and my api key. When the scheduled task for "download missing subtitles" is run, no subtitles are downloaded. I check my profile in OpenSubtitles to be sure, and I still have 0/20 downloaded for the day and I don't see anything in my download history. I noticed that subtitles weren't being downloaded a few weeks ago so I ran that scheduled task manually and at that time, I was able to download more subtitles, but haven't downloaded a single one since. Just to be thorough, I set the scheduled task to run every 4 hours but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas? I don't have that much media that needs subtitles, so 20 per day should be plenty to complete my library in a few weeks but not if it never works.

Hi,

Maybe this topic gives some insight:

And this one: viewtopic.php?p=43812&hilit=deprecated#p43820

All software developers have been told years ago to prepare for new .com API and to implement that into their programs.
.org ADD-ONS will stop working for a lot of people, but may continue for a little longer for VIP members.

If you use a .org ADD-ON, try downloading and trying it with a .com ADD-ON instead.
If you already are using the latter, then please provide program debug info so our devs can take a look. If jellyfin doesn't have a .com ADD-ON, maybe ask their developers to get one.

Hope that helps.

Hey, I had a similar issue with the OpenSubtitles plugin on Jellyfin. Here are a few things to check:
1. Make sure your API key is still active and hasn't expired.
2. Try uninstalling the plugin completely, rebooting the server, and installing it again.
3. Check the Jellyfin logs for errors related to connecting to OpenSubtitles servers.
I also suggest checking the permissions settings for media folders. It's possible the plugin doesn't have enough permissions to save subtitles.
