Hello Forum,
I'm new here and I have registered to ask a question that has bothered me for a long time already.
All over the world there are public TV stations who publish their content totally for free on the web, i.e. eltrecetv from Argentina.
Most of these have their own productions of movies and series and almost all the TV stations produce them without subtitles.
Almost none of these are ever bought by TV stations from other countries where they would get translated to other languages, they remain in their native language only and without subtitles.
Many of these are so extremely popular that you can find loads of extracted clips on Youtube and with many people not speaking the native language of the production there's a gigantic demand for subtitles, because people don't want to see short clips with YT auto generated subs, they want to watch the whole series.
A few of them have become so extremely popular that people would take even the clips as "better than nothing", where a group of private enthusiasts have made a playlist of these clips where they have written subtitles for the clips on their own, while the complete series even though fully available on the website of the producers doesn't have subtitles to this day. Best example probably "Las Estrellas" from eltrecetv where the corresponding playlist of 119 clips on YT is titled "Flozmin".
There are lots of these that I'd love to watch, I can make you a list if you like, not only in Spanish, but also in Portuguese, Polish, French, Thai, Korean and more.
I've tried sending in requests for a few of these, not only at OS but elsewhere as well, but never received any kind of reply, let alone getting any of my wishes fulfilled.
In short, my question is, how come nobody at OS nor anywhere else seems to be interested in making subtitles for these, even though the demand for it is obviously huge?
