Converting subs

Mon Nov 11, 2024 11:48 am

I was wondering if there's any way to convert standard srt file subs into soft UTF - 8 format using android? I've tried an online converter but that didn't seem to do it... Any help would be appreciated. I know this is possible using windows via the notepad++ for what I have read, but would make life easier for me to do it on an android. Thanks in advance.

Ps. If there is already a thread for this please point me to it and I will remove this one if possible. :)

not sure what you mean by "soft" UTF-8, but you can get any subtitle in regular UTF-8 if you download it from opensubtitles.com, as it's one of the goal of the migration to convert all the various encodings received over the years to UTF-8

you can just browse opensubtitles.com to find your subtitles, or if you browse through opensubtitles.org, click on download(beta) to have it on opensubtitles.com

Then Choose the subtitle you want to convert.

Go to option advanced, click on Try out a diffferent charset there you choose the format you want to convert the subtitle into.
then click on load into subtitle, go again in advanced, to finish, click on save.
