Opensubtitles blocked in Australia

Unfortunately, all subtitles sites including opensubtitles are now blocked in Australia. See "Australian court orders blocking of subtitle piracy sites", link here.

Firefox "onion" browser better known as Tor browser works for manual search.
Alas, from what I hear, a VPN service will throw a spanner in the works

Hi,

you can use 3rd party DNS provider such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, I believe they are blocking this on DNS level.

This has created havoc with my app that access api.opensubtitles.org... You're right oss about that solution, though not ideal.
