I'm assuming the name of the film u've got is
"The_House_Of_Flying_Daggers.avi".

Set the name of the subtitle to "The_House_Of_Flying_Daggers.srt"(extension may vary like .sub/.txt/etc)

To make ur player take this subtitle as english, add
"en" after the prefix (Example:The_House_Of_Flying_Daggers En.srt)

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

Make sure this subtitle file is in same folder where
your source video file is present

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
Install a codec package (KLite Mega Codec Package) to view subtitles using any media player (Windows Media Player/etc)

OR

Install jetAudio and play the file "The_House_Of_Flying_Daggers.avi" and it will select the subtitle automatically.
