Possible to search without using hash?

Thu Aug 31, 2017 11:38 am

I was wondering if there was a way to search for subtitles for a given tv show using the show name, episode title, episode number, series number etc, rather than use hashes. The reason is that I re-encode many of my own movies/tv shows and ensure that the correct information regarding each show is embedded in the relevant file meta data, therefore I know I can provide accurate search data using my metadata, but my local file hash will never match anything in the OS database. This problem is also apparent when using products based on Synology DSM software as although DSM supports OS, its searches tend to find nothing yet its video application is able to accurately find all of the movie/tv show information using the files metadata.

Thanks
