Is this a forum or what?

Fri Sep 18, 2015 11:20 am

When I first came to this virtual place I thought it was meant to share thoughts and ideas. Somewhere where people discuss about subtitling and a lot of related matters. Internet gives us the opportunity to gather a lot of people easily.

But in most of my conversations there are only two, at most four people. Why is that? How many registered users are there? I can hardly believe that amongst 1000 or 2000 people there is not one person with something to say.

Well, as somebody said: "reality betrays us all, miss Smith". It's just that it escapes me.

Neither do I. On the contrary, I've seen some critiques and they are always accepted.

I'm not surprised. Nobody does and and everyone i know complains about him. Deletes subtitles for no reason and then uploads the same subs and gets the credit for someone elses work.
As the hector said, I've seen some critiques and they are always accepted.

Well, if it was deleted(subtitles), they should not be good.
Who does not like and start to criticize.
I've seen users to complain because an admni (i) delete subtitles made by automatic translator.
And then came asking for explanations, saying that the subtitles was good.

And then it starts all types of charges, it is not a good admnistrador, delete subtitles for no reason etc etc.

If he delete the subtitles is because he had reason for do that.

ok, so I think the best would be give some example, some case, where we can check who is right and who is wrong. It is easy to come and saying "because of admin...". We want proves, we can check.

I just get mail from user who complains to be banned. No wonder he is banned. This behaviour is unacceptable.
Why you are so dumb fucks in OpenSubtitles? I guess you are a punch of
retards. Your site is full of ads and malware. Luckily you are shutting
down in couple of months.

I don't think this even deserves a response. Probably I'm wasting my time but...
Your site is full of ads and malware.
The first part is true. It's full of ads. But it is also full of FREE subtitles. I think you see just a little piece of the whole truth. That is really dumb.
About malware... this is a web site. The problem as always is javascript. But if you know a web site that doesn't use javascript nowadays let me know. You can always disable it. Besides I don't think there's malware. What's the point?

I think the dumb thing is criticising people without a base. Instead of that, instead of sharing your anger, you should rather share your ideas and thoughts about how to improve things and prove that you are less dumb than this "punch of retards". Besides, there are a lot of things in this life that you should do rather than waste your time criticising people. I don't think you improve anything with your anger.

I don't know why there are people like you but I'm sure things can change. And you can turn anger into happiness. For example,
you can start by watching some of the films I've subtitled. Many of them are about people like you.
Luckily you are shutting down in couple of months.
I hope not. But you can freely go away and start (or continue) visiting porn sites. It is as easy as that. There are tons of them. But I don't think you can get there what you get from opensubtitles. I'm thankful for this site and all the people working to make it possible.

But you will still need opensubtitles.org for the subtitles :)

Btw, I was out for a while, just read this topic, but it looks like some posts are missing.
Or am I still spaced out?

I guess that's because when you delete a user all his posts are deleted.

This user said you're a "punch of retards". I guess that's why s/he was deleted. I think s/he meant "bunch" and I think s/he should improve her/his English. But that's not the only thing s/he should improve.
