Re: OpenSubtitles-Uploader (Windows/Linux/OSX)

I can reproduce problem in OS uploader, but when I try my uploader php script, it works, so it is quite strange. Maybe there is set some small timeout in OS Uploader ? Sometimes files can long time to upload

If it uploads as "new" subs, meaning the file is different. Or to simplify, to update new video hash you have to upload the exact file you have downloaded from OpenSubtitles and not alter / change anything inside it.
I see.
As this site adds few random advertisements into subtitles they are then marked as new instead of same as original.
Just needed to remove extra adds with Subtitle Edit and it worked.

if you download subtitles from our site, it is not good idea to upload them back to us with our advertisement, so thats why they are refusing to upload...

Indeed it is a strange issue. The errors seem to have reduced a bit, I can upload quite
few subtitles before getting hit with that error and I would just manually upload the subtitle
file and hash it with OS-U.

We'll see how this goes over the next few days and if issues remains, will post on this topic

Thanks CC

are you downloading and uploading subs as registered user?
For example when using Plex or FileBot there will be extra lines added when logged in as free user.
It's unavoidable as those platforms don't check have you used browser extension last time.

I do use profile in chrome with browser extension to get "clean" subs if simply removing added lines with Subtitle Edit doesn't work.

Few times even one extra empty line at the end has ended up as new subtitles :D

I see. not ideal situation. I will try to fix.

I checked source code...and...anyway - please send me the subtitle you are getting with extra lines, so I can check something, thx - those extra lines must come from somewhere.

Oh, and just in a right time.

This was outcome when I did not have enough empty lines at the end:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/fi/subtit ... justice-fi
(something odd at the end of the subtitle file)
EDIT 2: (Think I had wrong one selected: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16844&start=105#p46164)

EDIT 1: This was my first time seeing this error few days ago:
Did mark subtitles to be deleted before taking this screenshot:
(left file used in failed hash update attempt and in right is how it was uploaded to this site)
Image

Original subtitle was https://www.opensubtitles.org/fi/subtit ... the-bfg-fi
Somehow many extra lines / spaces where added from nowhere and I have no idea how that happened.

Recently I also run into problems while trying to upload subtitles. Only a few succeed, for the rest I just get "something went wrong".

Exactly... and sometimes notification of maintenance.

Same problem here.
Not only with OpenSubtitles-Uploader, also with the upload plug-in in Subtitle Edit.
Tried with several subtitles, on several occasions.
Some succeed, others don't.
I had this sort of problem before, then it was a problem within the API.
Did something change recently?

I have the same problem. I tried at various times over the last few days but to no avail.

If Skinny1 is right and the problem is again API-related, then Oss would be our (only) hope.
I have contacted him about this.
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

it is fixed. the problem was settings with cloudflare which we changed that time, when the problem started.
