If you don't trust it, read the sources for Chromium, NWjs and Opensubtitles-Uploader, then build it yourself :)

open source softwares > antimalwares

Otherwise, the only "red flag" I could see is that I don't sign my installers (most of you on Windows probably have seen the UAC warning regarding the absence of signature), because I don't want to buy a developer key to be a "trusted developer", because I'm not a professionnal and only do this on my own time.

And another issue. I tried adding hashes, software said -as expected-
"We already have that subtitle"
"Hash added"
"Movie name added"
All good.

But...
four days later no hash has been added.
No idea if this issue is on the side of the Uploader or of the opensubtitles system.

Yeah, I wanted to add hashes for this subtitle:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... 21/vice-nl
For video files:
Vice.2018.720p.BluRay.x264-[YTS.AM].mp4
Vice.2018.720p.WEBRip.x264-[YTS.AM].mp4
Vice.2018.720p.BluRay.H264.AAC-RARBG.mp4

Haha, I already noticed and wondered... So it was you :)
Okay, thanks for the test, I tried again. For the record:
Thu 25-Apr-2019 09:46 - 09:49 - 09:49
- Vice.2018.720p.BluRay.x264-[YTS.AM] - Subtitle was already present in the database. The hash has been added! The file name has been added!
- Vice.2018.720p.WEBRip.x264-[YTS.AM] - Subtitle was already present in the database. The hash has been added! The file name has been added!
- Vice.2018.720p.BluRay.H264.AAC-RARBG - Subtitle was already present in the database. The hash has been added! The file name has been added!
Let's see what happens. And when.

Just to keep things clean, is this a valid video file (never mind the name, it matches the synchronisation)? Or should I delete the hash?

Already found out, that was a hash for Pirates.of.the.Caribbean.Tales.of.the.Code.Wedlocked.720.BDRip.x264-DJF so I deleted it.

Guess what, 'my' hashes are there already. So I guess a temporary problem, all good now.

hashes are not showing immediately, they are cached for some time and then show...maybe I can check and for admins show them immediately if needed...

In this case, the problem was that the hashes did not show AT ALL, not even after four days, against expectation ("hash added", no error). No idea why, the second time was fine.

But yeah, the (long) cache is not very convenient. If that could be a bit faster, would be nice.

strange, four days is a long time, and for sure this was some other issue. For now lets keep it like this, if you encounter similar problems in future, let me know and I can check more what is going on

Hi all,

Everything seems to be working just fine for me, I just uploaded a sub with the app, one already in DB, another new. Both behaved as expected

Yeah, I think it was a temporary problem.
And most likely on the side of OpenSubtitles.

Now that you are here ;-) I have a feature request.
The problem is that now users only see an IMDb ID and that big image in the background. The actual title is only displayed when hovering the mouse over that "i" icon. Why not have the title display somewhere, without active user interference?

Mind you, with a little bit smart file name, the OS Uploader got it right in -I estimate- 99,9% of the cases. But that's exactly why users do not check and hover that "i" and errors are kind of unnoticed. One small line of text somewhere could probably minimize that.
