I'd also like to help out with editing existing subtitles. Some of the ones I've downloaded aren't very good and and some are virtually unintelligible. Who should I contact? Or will someone contact me? I'm a retired professor of English with lots and lots of editorial experience. :?

Open the subtitle with Notepad and make the changes to text. When you close, it will ask you if you want to save the changes. Yes, save. I recommend saving a backup of the original too, but easy enough to reopen the zip file and renaming it.

For something as awful as you say, you will be making a lot of changes to text and it is very time-consuming. You will be constantly pausing the movie to make your changes. As an example, I downloaded _The Blind Side_ and the subtitles for it had some obvious mistakes and missed meanings, having been done by someone whose first language is not English. That is not a criticism of the author; this movie had southern dialect and American football references, an impossible task for someone not familiar with those. It took me four hours, about an hour longer than I expected. There still were three places where I could not understand what was said, even using headphones.

W@hen uploading don't forget to credit the original author. There is a lot of plagiarism going on here, which puzzles me.
