Blockage in Denmark

Sun May 31, 2020 8:46 pm

Hi

Any chance for the removal of the ridiculous blockage from Danish IPs? The redirect link doesn't even function no more and the request from "Rettighedsalliance" was never legit.

Thanks

I agree with you, it doesn't make sense so much.
But the big boss of OpenSubtitles has decided.

But, instead of discussing and 'waiting', why not take control yourself?
If you get a VPN, your problem is solved instantly.

And why not, nowadays (actually already for a long time) a VPN is a good idea anyway. It's a misconception that VPN's are only for criminals. On the contrary, with a VPN you protect yourself a bit against those (legal and illegal) criminals, like people/entities sniffing your traffic when you use free wi-fi somewhere, the government spying on you, or your ISP collecting your data and selling it to the highest bidder.
A VPN costs only a few bucks per month.
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

No way to reconsider now that the retards who filed the claim originally, didnt keep their URL working? Opensubtitles.org was found and thought to be a part of "Popcorn time", a now forgotten p2p movie streaming program, and I doubt there was taken any regard to the ACTUAL function of opensubtitles (which is to store text files, for crying out loud). The news headlines of Popcorn time is gone, so should the ridiculous blockage.Ah well, his site - his rules, I suppose.

I agree the VPN could solve it in a second. In my case, I use software (bazarr), to download subtitles, in a docker container so I guess I should just work out how to use my PIA account in the container. Sad that it had to be complicated like this.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next month.
I have it on good authority the Danes might be back in the game.

When and if you notice something, come back to this topic and give us a, "Yay." So we know all is good. Don't make a big deal. Don't advertise the fact. Don't go to any authority figure giving them a big F-U! In the name of freedom. :D
