thanks, for the sync issues, do you have a specific example ?
Maybe this is one (the URL looks a bit funny...)

On .ORG: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search ... d-14432968
Two subs by oakislandtk and one by class123

On .COM: https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/en/sea ... episode-10
Two subs by oakislandtk and one by FF_7ladh_

Besides:
Check out the link when you hover on the user names. It should(?) go to the user's profile pgae. but instead it goes to the current URL.

Thank you for your tireless work, os_dev.
I appreciate it.
And just so you know, some subtitles occasionally still aren't syncing across to the new site. Especially info like the "release name" has been changed on .org, etc. Please check that also when you're able.

Hi mate, waited a few days to make sure they weren't syncing before giving the examples:

1: https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtit ... -the-guard
2: https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtitles/wxxy

If you click on "view on opensubtitles.org", you should see the changes I made to the subtitles. Release name and .srt name changes. That was a few days ago, but it still remains the same as before on .com. Makes me wonder if any changes in the past have been transferred over.

Thanks for looking into it and I hope the past changes in the past for other subs can also be reflected in the fix.

Kind regards

Ah thanks for the example, lead me to find the problem, while the file contents were correctly updated (specially keeping the last version) the subtitles data were not updated in the loop.

I will be running some long scrips over the week end to check older subtitles who got affected by the problem

Thanks for these !!

took me a little while, but could find some old issues with users who were not properly imported, giving these weird displays in the subtitles results.

also fixed the links to the users

URL looks funny because this is a search result, not meant to be indexed, not meant to be tweaked, still humanely readable, and still tweakeable.

More precise links to episodes, with URI sent to search engines are of this style
https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/tvshow ... alma-mater

When I hit the DOWNLOAD button, it opens the counter & the "install the .xpi box" then goes to this page: The page isn’t redirecting properly

Hi

I sent a message earlier to say that when I go to https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/users/vip and check my status to .org I get an error :-
Error 503 Backend fetch failed
Backend fetch failed

Guru Meditation:

The reply email I received was :-

Hello **********************
Your account has been locked due to too many failed login attempts.
Click the link below to restore your account:
Open my account back

Just to let you know that I can log onto both sites independently with my username and password so I cannot understand why you say its locked., however the link still does not work

As an update the locked account was a red herring. self inflicted when I changed password to get both sites the same in case that was the problem.

VIP link check still throws error

Every time in new site I need to open Profile - VIP to let website know I have browser extension installed before it knows it.
Seems a bit weird.

Did notice this:
Image

Left file is downloaded from:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/fi/subtit ... justice-fi
Right file is downloaded from:
https://www.opensubtitles.com/fi/subtit ... 4-galaxyrg

Maybe I had subtitles from .com instead of .org and as they are not 100% same it made me upload them as new.

EDIT: Outcome of failed upload: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15404&p=46165#p46165

Sorry for the late reply on this. I can't seem to replicate the issue.... are you still experiencing it ?

What I'm really wondering is, how do you figure out in the Profile - VIP that the browser extension is installed ? by the changing text in the box ?

The check for extension is made on every page, if you have issues on a search result, or subtitle page telling you. that you have to be VIP or install the extension to use this feature, it means you clicked before the page was fully loaded (normally doesn't happen too often but it can.... working on improving this)

...
I did clear cache/cookies/history on Firefox and can't reproduce that anymore.
So maybe had some issues in my end.

Only way now to get that download timer is:
- Open Firefox, login at .org and .com
- Find any subtitle at .org and hit Download (beta).
Now this window has the timer
- If I copy the url from the Download (beta) button and remove the /download from address:
Now using Download button (at .com) doesn't give the timer
(guessing this happens because now there is time to check for browser extension)

Extra note:
After this, if I go back to .org and search a new subtitle and download it by hitting beta-link I get timer again so it forgets me.

======

Did download Finnish subtitles from .org and .com for movie:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/fi/subtit ... an-film-fi
And that got me thinking.
Does beta site (.com) use UTF-8 coding where main site (.org) uses ANSI in every subtitle? Does that conversion add the extra line somehow?

Example: Beta.com (left) and Main.org (right)
Image

Need to remember from where every subtitle was download when uploading hash info as that line messes it up.
