Specific Subtitles

Hi,
Ive been looking at different subtitles available for different movies.
Im wanting a way of using subtitles on parts that are not in English.
For example in the film Blank Panther I only want subtitles at the parts when they are speaking African? If I enable normal subtitles then they are visible on the English speaking parts as well and I'd rather not have to keep pausing the film and toggling between enabling and disabling subtitles?

Any ideas?

Thanks

There's a kind of subtitles named "forced-subtitles". That's the kind you're talking about. I suggest you to use any editor of subtitles. I use often Subtitles Workshop. It's an GNU program for subtitles edition. Then, you delete all the english subtitles, leave only the "afrikan translations" and save it like english forced one. There's another program to merge the video with the subtitles in a Matroska file (MKV Toolnix) and there's where you select the track like a forced one. I know, it sounds like a lot of work and many steps but if you like to have an ordered library you can do it this way. Regards.

Does open subtitles have any forced subtitles? I use open subtitles whilst using Kodi for digitally licensed films and when choosing from this list I dont see any?

Yes, but it may be called differently ("Foreign Parts Only") and marked with a 'globe' icon. See the search form:

resulting in a search result list like this:

That's the theory.

In reality, many uploaders don't mark their forced subs as such.
Also, Kodi (and any other API-driven software) will only see subtitles with a hash code attached.
So your automated searches may find much less than what is actually available.
