Subtitles are not synchronized with the movie

Sun Apr 15, 2018 10:58 pm

Why, while using OpenSubtitles, they will speed up compared to the sound. After adjusting the seconds delay it is OK for a short time and then begins to speed ahead once more. There are only 60 seconds I can slow it down for, but I eventually will need more. How can this be avoided, other than using another subtitle.

Lately the subtitles for "The Resident" have not been synced. It usually starts off OK but gets progressively worse as the show continues.

Is there anything I can do to rectify this?

Synchronization is not necessarily only a matter of x seconds earlier or later. Sometimes it is (also) a matter of a different frame rate of the movie. This will result in 'squeezed' or 'stretched' timings. To fix this, you will need to resync the subtitle file.

I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

Sounds like a matter of different frame rate.
You can change this with subtitling software like the free and awesome Subtitle Edit.
