[System trouble] Errors on uploading and downloading

Wed May 24, 2017 7:31 pm

At the moment there are problems with uploading and with uploaded subtitles.

Sometimes uploading just doesn't work at all and one of these errors show:
"saving to tmp failed"
or
"Cant open file, write to webmaster please: upload(storage:comp)"

Sometimes the uploading seems to have worked well, but when using the preview feature or actually trying to download, this error shows:
"1912345678 subtitle file doesnt exists, you can contact admin GetSubtitleContents()"
(with "1912345678" being any 10-digit number).

This problem started last night (Wednesday May 24th) roughly around 00:00 AM GMT.
We are working on a fix.
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

So we've deleted all the subtitles that were uploaded on the site from that time? And as anonymous, you can't re-upload them said subtitles cos the site says they already exist. When you click on the link of the subtitle that "exist", it takes you to a disabled subtitle. I wouldn't call this a fix.

Yeah, that's a 'funny' phenomena (although I doubt if users are laughing).

Looks like those subs should be re-uploaded - as registered user, with a minor change in text or timing, otherwise the system sees it as duplicate. If you want subs to be anonymous, I think the only way would be uploading them as registered user and next make them anonymous.

Yes, I know, 'funny'.

Maybe oss can confirm.

those subtitles, which was uploaded wrongly (because of recent storage problem), should be uploaded again. Just edit and add space, comma (anything) in MIDDLE of subtitles, and upload.
