Yes, I am "fabilander"
I'm going to wait for that, right now I'm working in some Jackie Chan old movies to create portuguese subs

Okay, great.

So we have Lander/Fabilander and sU-Boots.
Also Sub Translator "Kilokiko" responded (but not yet here on this forum).

Maybe here you could more easily coordinate and discuss things, about language checking/correcting, technical stuff like sync and CPS, pt-pt/pt-br versions, etc. With three people it should be possible to create perfect subs :)

I leave it up to you three.

Hello, thanks for invite me for this,
I'm in and I'm waiting for a new reply.
Good, Fabio.
As I said at the time, I can help with the translation for PT/PT.
Alone I can not do the translation, I do not have much time..

How can we start?

How can we start?
Start with downloading the movie and watch it :)

Here are two (btw completely legal) downloads:
Very decent 720p quality, 1.3 GB: https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/19671833/
Or go to-the-max 1080p, 4.5 GB: https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/19672640/
There are a few more versions, but whatever you do, use a UNiVEARTH release uploaded by Legion_1

Then we have a few different versions English subtitles: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search ... er-1411211

These are all well-synchronized, as in good and constant in-cue, as much as possible constant gaps and using cam changes where possible and present. Sync is already anticipating compressed translations with relative low CPS, so technical messing around should be limited to a minimum.
The significant difference lays in the text part: one is 100% verbatim, one is compressed, one is compressed hearing impaired. See the additional info on the subtitle pages and also what I wrote earlier in this post.

Which subtitle to choose as source is depending on how you want to work, how much - and up to you.

We can use this version of the subtitle : https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... olocene-en
I already split the subtitle, i will send you a mp with the srt file, 500 lines +/- to translate.

Just a little hint... I don't know how experienced you are with teamworking on subs. My experience was close to zero...

We did the Dutch subs with *three* people. Not the easiest, lots of talking (21 forum pages (yes really!) and a bunch of PMs and emails) - and lots of disagreeing :) but the result is pretty good, if I may say so :) What we did was the same: each their own part and then reviewing each others parts. But it helps a lot if you agree on some consistency things beforehand. Of course the very basics, like
- what is the aim for CPS ratio, what is the absolute maximum
- the aim/maximum for line length
but also the small details - if not already clear in your language guidelines, like:
- space or no space after dialog hyphen
- "Mr" and "Mrs" etc. with or without dot,
- What about "professor" - capital, abbreviation, translation...
- geological periods with a capital or lowercase
- on-screen text in all caps or lowercase
- using italics or not - if so, when
Stuff like that - this keeps consistency all through the subs and avoids a weird 'switch' in the middle.

If I am kicking in an open door - I'm sorry

Btw, Funch...
i will send you a mp with the srt file
PM's do NOT support attachments, you need to use email.

Thank´s for the tips SmallBrother :) , i'll talk to him better tomorrow by email, to discuss all this.
"PM's do NOT support attachments" - I did not know that
Anyway, Lander the srt that I thought I'd sent by mp was from the first 500 lines.

Thank you, but besides being slightly late, machine translations by your website t*s.com is not quite what we had in mind ;-)
