Hello, I am doing a presentation in my school about creating subtitles, I don't know too much about this but found it interesting. My question is if maybe exist a software that convert a normal text into subtitle format. With subtitle format I try to mean, the correct number of caracteres per line, adecuate continuity, punctuation, quotes....
Don't take it too serious if I am talking nonsense, just a quick question from a newbie. Thanksss
You can convert subtitles with one of these two : Subtitle Workshop and SubtitleEdit.

Keep in mind that subtitles are not just a translation or a transcript, there are some 'rules' to follow. For example, very basic (and somewhat simplified) rules are:
- minimum duration of 1-1.2 seconds
- maximum duration of 6-7 seconds
- maximum 45-50 characters per line
- maximum two lines
- maximum 20-25 characters per second
- dialogues should have starting hyphens
