Possible uploading mistake.

Sun Feb 26, 2017 4:36 am

I uploaded a subtitle, first time in my life. I created a greek subtitle for Manchester by the sea -- great movie, no greek subtitle existed. I uploaded it to Open Subtitles and then tried to search it. Couldn't find it outside of Open Subtitles (that was an hour ago). Also, when I download it from the site, it downloads the compressed file, but when I click on it, I get "either the file is in unknown format, or it's corrupted". The subtitle I created, I can watch with the movie on my laptop with no problems. I can also preview it on Open Subtitles, but something happens when I download it. I made a mistake somewhere, obviously, but I don't know where. Can you help?

Same here, everything looks okay.

I have seen a few similar cases and they seem to be related to the built-in unzipper of Windows.
If that's what you are using, try a standalone unzipper to unpack the dowwnloaded ZIP file.
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

Thank you both. I realized I had checked using the OS Download Manager. When I unchecked it, it worked for me also. Perhaps the Manager doesn't work well for some reason on my laptop. Anyway, thanks everybody for the help and support. Others seem to be downloading and thanking, so it's all good.
