Requested page was blocked in response...DMCA

Hi.
I have seen that when requesting some subtitles, for example those for the film "Toni Erdmann" in Spanish by Sgarrifos, appears a message indicating "Requested page was blocked in response to a complaint we received under the DMCA ...".
Does this mean that subtitles can also be subject to copyright limitations even if they are not copied but created by oneself? Can not these limitations be resorted to? I see that subtitles in other languages for the same movie can be downloaded. Does that mean that the complaints are specific to a particular subtitle, or to a particular language?

Regards,

GGG

Please, read the "Forum rules" on top of every forum page. So I have censored a couple of words and especially your last sentence, this was too much. Some things you don't wish to other people, not even to copyright trolls. Feel free to ventilate your opinion and express your feelings, but please stick to the basics...

And feel free to upload your subs.

Thank you very much for information, LouisCyphre01. I didn't know anything about that person ans his methods. I hope opensubtitles can find a way to fight against that.

I can understand that a specific page was blocked, but this page is the main page for a series: 0898266 "The Big Bang Theory', so all 26.382 subtitles are inaccessible, this can;t be right... :-(

It also refers to this page: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/msg-dmca but why are there subtitles on this page?

When you do the search, in the languages if you choose (all) the msg dmca will appear.
But if you search with the specific language, the subtitles are accessible.

I tried search in PT / PT and in English.

https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/ssearc ... ovie-27926

EDIT

Another example: When searching for: Godzilla (2014), you will get the same message that it was blocked. Search using IMDb ID with the right language selected or sometimes "all" selected for language search and paste IMDb ID in the search field and hit enter: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0831387/

Your result will be as follows: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search ... bid-831387
Then for example, click on the desired language of the sub that you want, I clicked on English version: https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... odzilla-en

Underneath the above page link where it says: "Godzilla subtitles English" in a green box, you will see other release names of the subtitles for that movie, click the one you need. To download, click on the subtitle name with the extension of the filename. Example: Godzilla.2014.720p.BluRay.x264-SPARKS.srt to download the subtitle.

Thanks.
