a design should be either responsive or be 1000px wide, that's the general consensus and how it has worked for a generation. 960px is half a 1080p screen, it should be usable without big trouble. I think I havent used firefox in 1920px since a long time.

There it's similar (only that one column gets resized) but not exactly the same. For example, when going below approx 1000px the column "Posts" changes position (it moves from the right side to the top), and so creates space for the description column. I guess that's better ("responsive"). Going even smaller, still only that description column changes width, the rest stays the same. With a width lower than 750 the columns "Topics" and "Posts" completely disappear (to make place for the description column). Not sure if that is a good solution...

It's responsive, but just not responding well ;-)
I agree, 960px should be no problem at all...
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

@oss, it's all good there: the "post" goes above, and thus there's enough space for the main forum thread list.

I think the 1 column is better because :
- "post" div is short, it can go before the forum (or not be there at all, that doesn't seem like something I'd be interrested in, but that's me); if it were on the right, it would leave the entire column blank except for the firsts 200-300 pixels. It sounds like a waste of space.
- it allows to display the full description, the alternative if there's 2 column is to make an ellipsis of the description text; one thing is sure, as it is now (one word on top of another, takes 500px per subforum) it is not possible.

Weird...
Here in the opera as in chrome appears to me that way, even with adblock off, is equal.
In firefox works well.
Later I will try on another computer
