[GUIDE] How to uninstall browser coupon/ad extension

Wed May 13, 2015 5:46 am

Coupon Downloader

As you know, the subtitles download service is offered for free to users such as yourself – no payments are required. We got 4 times more users using API, then website - in peak times around 30.000 users. API users are not monetised at all. Unfortunately, it does cost a lot to keep the website up and running, and so the website partners with advertisers. We are contracted as a third party advertising partner which controls the coupons and ads that are placed on OpenSubtitles.org. Those coupons/ads help the site to cover its high costs. First, we want to assure you that the ad you encountered is 100% clean and safe. It is in no form of a virus and will not harm your computer in any way.

How to remove – Uninstall
Firefox

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel. Select the SaveNet add-on. Click the Remove button. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

Chrome

Navigate to chrome://extensions. Find the SaveNet extension. Press the Uninstall button, as it is shown in the figure.

Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons. Under Show, click Downloaded controls to display all ActiveX controls. Click on the SaveNet addon, and then click More information. In the More Information dialog box, click Remove. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. When you are finished, click Close.

If you got any questions regarding uninstall, please post here.

You missed guide for Opera:
1. Open your browser, then click on the Menu icon located in the upper-left corner of the browser. In the popup menu, choose “Get extensions”.
2. The “Opera Add-ons” page will open. As you can see, there is quite a large number of extensions, and to find the right, use the search (in the upper right corner). Type in the search bar the name of the required extension, “AdBlock”, for example.
3. In the search results, click on the extension “AdBlock”.
4. Next, click on “Add to Opera”, and then the installation of the extension will start.

That's it.
