BBC iPlayer

Sun Sep 07, 2014 9:15 am

I apologize ahead if this is an inappropriate topic for this forum, but would anybody know how to download subtitles from BBC iPlayer? I'm specifically interested in the web series Doctor Who Extra (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0 ... f-sherwood) that I want to translate into my language and the English subtitles would be a big help form me.

Thanks for any advice!

A programme called Get iplayer can do it. For those living outside the UK, they'll have to use a VPN to gain access to the iplayer.

You can gain access to the iPlayer from outside of the UK by using something called a VPN. They are quite easy to set up and install, but many of them require payment. There are lots of privacy advantages to using a VPN, so they are often worth the investment.

When you have one, you can "connect" to many countries. Once you select the UK, the BBC website will think you are browsing from inside the UK and you will have access to the iPlayer.

Check out:

Alternatively, Opera has a VPN built into their web browser.
