Hi guys I just registered 'couse I'm having hard time trying to upload my first srt file...
I created my srt (italian language) by editing (i.e. simply replacing only the text lines and mantaining original encoding) the corresponding srt from other language downloaded from Open Subtitles itself, errors are Unsupported subtitle format for CD 1. Only srt, sub, smi, txt and ssa formats are supported via web form and generic error via PC client.
Side note: I tried uploading just as anonymous...but I guess that's not significant, isn't?
Any idea? Thanks!

This error is triggered by the anti-spam system. Usually a URL inside the subs, but also many exact repetitions can trigger it.
Start with checking for these two possibilities.
If you still can't upload.
Upload the subtitle on some file sharing website like
http://www.filedropper.com/ then leave the link to the subtitle here, and we will have a look.

You nailed it: as it turns out, I totally forgot to remove a tiny reference to the site from which I originally downloaded the english srt (the movie is portuguese, not dubbed), being not available here on Open Subtitles.
BTW how long usually it takes to show the new one in the list of available srts? I guess is going to be subject to prior verification, isn't?

No, subtitles are not subject to prior verification.
After uploading it normally takes a few seconds to show in the list of available / last uploads.

Some of the subs for Miraculous - Tales of Ladybug . Cat Noir are incorrectly named or packed on
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/ssearc ... vie-482730 . For example, The Bubbler has the subs for MR. PIGEON in at least French, German and Italian; I didn't check any other languages. I tried and failed to fix this by following the guide from 2010, but whatever I tried resulted in the system reporting they already had that sub. The sublist is actually missing subs for MR. PIGEON but it refuses my attempts at uploading them, even!
I assume this issue arose due to inconsistent episode numbering from the various broadcasters.
Could someone provide a simple means to fix these wrong-packings?

You only find them if you search MR. PIGEON.
But they appear as if they were the subtitles for ep.5.
The imdb for the ep is correct, it has the nr.imdb 5428718 which is the one from ep.6.
I tried to fix it but I couldn't, so we have to wait for the OS to fix the problem.

Hi
There are a number of episodes of Solsidan (Seasons 6/7) that have mismatched file names (Stated as S06E09) and but the English subtitles is in fact (S07E10).
Original uploader may be adble to assist in correcting these.

Thanks for letting us know. Although the title of this thread is misleading, that's not what this topic is for.
If you are certain the subs are incorrect and not just mislabelled, then it's best not to rely on the original uploader but help correct the website yourself.
Please read following topic below. It teaches users how they can report incorrect subtitles that should be changed.

I uploaded the Brazilian Portuguese subtitles for the movie "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy" and then I had to delete the file to upload a corrected version and now I can't upload the corrected file anymore, because I get the message: "We already have this subtitle file uploaded"
How can I fix this problem?

You could have updated the subtitle without deleting it.

Basically it was following the steps 1,6 and 14.
Now you can try to change the subtitle sync, for example in the 1st line and in the last one, 1ms I think is enough for you to be able to upload.
Or upload the subtitle on some file sharing website like
http://www.filedropper.com/ then leave the link to the subtitle here, and one of the admins uploads it to your account.

This error is triggered by 'spam'. It could be a forbidden website URL inside the subs, or many exactly the same repetitions, or just forbidden words. I don't know what it is in this case, but very likely all the references to porn and pornhub.
