Re: TV Series coming soon

guys, so I redirect search results to TV series page.

Tell me what you are missing there, and I will code it. In my mind comes:

1. change of language is not working - I will make it, when user change language in search menu and press search.
2. link to not paired episodes for given tv series

by the way, how do you like download?

Also, I am checking search results like: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search2 ... ename-lost - it seems I need to tune search results, so:
1, lost (Tv series) will be higher
2, no episodes will be there - that means, it will be not possible to search by episode NAME, for example ""Lost" The Shape of Things to Come (2008)" will not come to search at all. I think people are searching episodes by typing Lost and in the same time or later specify the season and/or episode. This will be quite tricky anyway...

Also, suggest when searching is offering really strange results too :)

Boss, Type "NCIS" in the normal search field and when the suggestion comes up, click on it. After you click on it, it says "don't hack this." Huh?

You should come out some WAY easier search method to reach the "ALL EPISODES" page.
There is no man on earth who will click on Advanced search/very advanced search/imdb id then copy the imdb link there...
I agree! Although the novelty of the new features is great, the original search function should also still work. Right now typing the series name in the original search tab gets you no results, or says "don't hack this."

Metal: write me URL of subtitles, what you think is wrong. I list your uploads, and they seems ok: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/ ... m3tal_l0rd

if some episodes doesnt have imdb [SxxExx] it means, they failed to parse. Write me 3 example (URL to subtitles) and I will tell you why.

if some episodes doesnt have imdb [SxxExx] it means, they failed to parse. Write me 3 example (URL to subtitles) and I will tell you why.

Failed to parse:
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... t-rider-en
+other seasons last episodes (IMDB has wrong info on double episodes)
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... k-angel-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... k-angel-fi
IMDB? missing Pilot episode.

just wrong episode:
Almost every episode of Knight Rider and Season 1 of Dark Angel
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... -ground-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... -knight-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... g-armor-en

Hi Metal, thanks for URLs.

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... t-rider-en
-> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083437/episodes
-> no episode on imdb

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... k-angel-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... k-angel-fi
-> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204993/episodes
-> no episode on imdb

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... -ground-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... -knight-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... g-armor-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... ta-back-en
-> I see no problem here, maybe expired cache of problem bellow

http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... a-horse-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... bad-bug-en
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitl ... -wilson-en
-> imdb was detected, but imdb_update() missed, now in cache, soon to be ok, movie information is held in cache for 24 hours

If there is no episode on IMDB, there is nothing what I can do, at least for now (I can make in future to add these missing episodes to opensubtitles, or checking those on http://www.themoviedb.org/, and then adding to opensubtitles, but thats in future)

wait, we got problems with all episodes then ?

please explain it to me better. When releaser put there s01e01, it is actually s01e00 ? Please give me some examples, so I can understand what is wrong, and what is right and how to fix it.

2. Now they are parsed for episodes, that means, I just change the imdbnumber, for example to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0636289/ - only in this way is possible to support TV Series.
and
strictly speaking - if you can use those episode imdbs, use them, but it should work in the future also for main tv-series and episode will be parsed from subtitle filename.
(My underlines in both quotes)

Now, if only you came to the same conclusion some years ago, the uploaders who made your life easier by associating with the episode IMDB id wouldn't have to destroy said information by editing their uploads and using the series IMDB id. So many wasted man-hours.
Your parsing algorithm could still enjoy associating the rest of the uploaded subtitles.

Don't mind me, I'm just shaking my head and talking to myself.

TZOTZIOY: back in time, it was worse using episode imdbs, than using series imdbs. There was no information in database it is series XX and episode XX and it is actually TV Series or Episode, so it will be real mess.

Now, when parsing is done, that information is back - about series and episodes and I hope it is OK. There can be some glitches, but I am pretty sure, we can fix it together.

Dude, episodes ARE on imdb, the matter is that those seasons have episode 00 - means pilot - and the releasers gave the number 01 to those episodes. So the whole season parsing is wrong. Sadly, this is common thing, almost every serie hass 00 pilot OR double (01-02) episode. In both cases our method is fucked up.
Yes, this is what's wrong now. Knight Rider has double episode at beginning of season and rest of episodes are screwed (check title and file name). 1st season of Dark Angel has pilot which isn't recognized.

Re: TV Series coming soon

I am not much into TV Series, so I am going to start to understand this.

It is possible to find out which TV-Series are all "shifted" ? If I got list of these, I can maybe program a shifting here.

It is quite mess releases naming conventiont doesnt match with imdb naming convention, and this only happens with certain cases.

My question is: let's say Knight Rider subtitles are shifted, all of subtitles are shifted ?

For example [s01e02] is same as 1x02 ? Or there are also different rulez. I want to fix that somehow, what will be not easy, but it is needed sooner or later, or I can restore a backup and forget about tv series...

If you click on "All subtitles for this movie in this language," the full series subtitles are supposed to come, but now it says "please send message to [email protected] how you reach this page, thanks!" URL is here: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/ssearch ... ovie-81695

Will that function still work after the update? I think it's important and should still work.

Also, when we're in the series subtitles, is there something that can be added that says "upload more episodes to this series" (or movie, for that matter)? :D
