very beta-stage :) You're right about that. After looking into it, I'm less enthusiastic now. The interface is a kludge, it has disconnected areas with separate logins, and it's not really localized - there's not even a language switch. They also have a spam problem ... When people make the wrong d...

Jonpagecr wrote in blog comment : Question: Why not join this community with this great (and new) community http://www.wikisubtitles.net/ And, i thing also join to this open software: http://sourceforge.net/projects/opensub/ It looks promising to me. Ah, OK. You could just add a placeholder to the subtitles page "comments will be back soon" so people know. The problem is, I'm getting those comments by mail but can't reply to them because the poster doesn't show up as a registered member. But if it's just temporary, well they'll have to...

Couldn't it also be that it is uploaded under a different imdbid? It's impossible to check this because  BUG  the link in that We already have this subtitle file uploaded as message (on the opensubtitles.org/upload page) is broken, it goes to http://opensubtitles.org/subtitles.

It's also nice for a quick overview of your own uploads without having to endure the weblag. It would be even faster if it could store the data for the monitored users locally and just update it when I view it, in the background. (Is it possible to do differential updates by XMLRPC? "Give me al...

Sounds familiar. It happens when you have a filename with special characters (0xE5 = 229 = "å" a ring, 0xEB = 235 = "ë" e dieresis) in your preferences file ( %programfiles%/subdownloader/conf/preferences.conf ). How to get rid of it: make sure subdownloader is not still running:...

can't see any comments

I'm getting comments for the subs I uploaded by mail but I don't see them on the webpage, even when I'm logged in. I even disabled AdblockPlus (now my eyes hurt :x ) -- nothing. I don't think it has to do with the caching issue because the whole #discussion section is missing, including the input fo...

ryo_sak and The RedBurn : I think this has been mentioned before, it's a known bug. IMDb doesn't have a public API (interface for other programs), so the data have to be collected from the webpages. Everytime they change the layout of their pages, your code can break. I've experienced this several ...

The subtitles are in a format that isn't displayed correctly on your computer because it doesn't expect Greek text by default. Your friend's computer probably has the default codepage set to Greek. Possible solutions: You could change your system settings but that would affect all programs, so I wou...

probably your codepage isn't set to "central european", or someone edited the file and saved it with the wrong codepage. microsoft word has a function to "fix broken text" (under "tools"). if all subtitles in languages with special characters were in unicode, and if ope...

usually opensubtitles search works. but you can always search by imdb number: - go to imdb.com and search for the movie - The URL in your address bar will look like http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450188/ (that's La Môme, actually) - so copy the number: 0450188 - in opensubtitles.org, open "Advanc...

two ways: 1. use subdownloader, it will only show you the subtitles that fit your movie file 2. check the release name if you don't find the subtitles that fit your release, (and don't want to do something for the community by synchronizing them ), you can adjust them without pausing the movie...
