And during?

In the meantime, what do we do? Do we upload using the correct IMDB ID, or do we wait?

Give us an example link of a subtitle from the site that you cannot see correctly. You didn't specify what program you use for viewing video, nor if your Windows (because you most probably use Windows) has Greek as the default codepage in the control panel. If your Windows does not have Greek as the...

Hardware players and UTF-8

I think no hardware player supports UTF-8, but who cares? You should include your subs in the .avi file and create a .divx. That's what divxmux and the older fuse.exe exist for. Typically you will use a GUI frontend (AviSub comes to mind first, and it's Hellenic :) ) for the sub-multiplexing procedu...

If anyone knows how to use Videolan with Greek subtitles without having to select ISO-8859-7 every time let me know. Because it really pisses me off. UTF-8 encoded subtitles, if understood by vlc (and it should), will make your life easier. You won't have to go to advanced settings and other simila...

ok, maybe the best thing is remove comments. Sorry, but I dont have idea how to fix this issue, only way is making that file utf8, and it will be bigger problems for others, because users have problems with reading utf8 files :( Most Linux distributions work with UTF-8 out of the box, and as for th...

"Unsupported subtitle format for CD 1. Only srt, sub, s

To the site admins

This gets reported for an .srt file that I am trying to upload. The file is perfectly valid, I just finished watching an episode of my favourite series using it.

Either something is going very wrong, or some mind-narrowing is taking place (to be explained).

Great!

Then, I hope that my (and others') habit of using the episode imdb id instead of just the series will help, since by logic, the more information one has, the better. (ie from an episode id, you can easily get the series id and the season/episode number using the imdb api, while the reverse is far mo...

codec and language guesser

Guys, I do have a python module that currently guesses the encoding of a text file, but I am in the process of converting it to return a tuple of (codec, language_code). All the data needed to train (and verify :) the module are included in the site. It indeed works with a matrix of character (str) ...

See the difference?

Does anyone see the difference between this IMBD url: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/ and this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887221/ I totally suggest that we use the second url above, because then we have the information for the episode season, episode number and episode title. I do that. ...
