Re: FILMS MUSICAUX

Re: Longest subtitle files so far

Well, if I provided a Finnish transcript I assume that you will promise to translate it in French or English, or both :)
Not sure lots of French or English people are interested by the life and death of the Stora Enso building (although it certainly is a great story), but I'll do my best  .

Re: Longest subtitle files so far

I believe the longest subs are well correlated with longest runtimes. Maybe SimplyTheBoss could provide a transcript for the Finnish movie Modern Times Forever , it is 240 hours long (yes, ten days!) . Otherwise, just look for the subs of these movies http://www.imdb.com/search/title?count...

Re: "From Star Wars to Jedi" Subtitles support needed

You shouldn't rely upon other users downloading the full movie to help you!

Please upload the related audio passages to an audio sharing/streaming platform (soundcloud, vocaroo or whatever) and give the link.

Re: guidelines for subs

2Hb, indeed when using ffdshow, you are certainly right: it is better not to break the lines and adjust the best subtitles mode which suits you. But keep in mind that on Windows OS, 70% of users use VLC player, whereas only 15% use MPC-HD. And there is a substantial number using Mac or Linux, who ca...

Re: disabled subs

The point is so I just use fewer keys to type.
Write your subs in SMS language then. The subs might even get short enough to be Twitted

Re: disabled subs

Hi 2HB, You can check the list of your disabled subs at any time: http://www.opensubtitles.org/fr/search/sublanguageid-all/iduser-1476243/disabled-on. Empty now  . Indeed it is an admin rule to always give the reason for disabling a sub. So yours were an exception rather than the rule. Swiftly...

Re: Changed subtitle language selector in search

For me, the fact that it shows '1 selected' rather than the language is annoying. I often switch between ENG and FRE, and now I have to verify almost every time which box has been checked.

Re: disabled subs

(Oh, and so as not anyone would confuse, would some of you make a template of "long line" comment for me? Or just putting two words "[long line]" or "long line." at the head of comment suffices?) If you agree, I would put "CAUTION: LONG LINES WITH MORE THAN 50 CHA...

Re: disabled subs

I also have to agree with jcdr, since the subs have some good sides and bad sides (if I may call it that way). Sure, enable them. As I said in an earlier post, it would be pretty crucial to make a comment about the lines being long, as 'service' to the downloader. Part of it could (should) be that ...

Re: disabled subs

Okay, the vote has not progressed, only four votes but none for a simple yes. The point from STB "that users might be confused if there's 50 different versions available. Do they have to download each version and test which is the "correct" version?" is highly relevant, it is a p...

I suddenly realize: 2Hb, http://addic7edsubs.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html is actually your blog, correct? Is it related to Addic7ed?

Re: disabled subs

2Hb, I have read the Addic7ed recommendations on the link you PM me (http://addic7edsubs.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html), I must say I am rather surprised. Two examples of one of your subs, with VLC player/ normal font size. Indeed it is even worse if a big font size is selected. The results are the ...

Re: disabled subs

2Hb, thanks for this clarification. There are dozens of TV series episodes coming up every day, and generally, the versions you will find uploaded on subtitle sites, correspond to the rip of the captioning from the satellite TV channels. OCR corrections are made, and syncs are adjusted to fit the va...
