Re: embedded subtitles and how to remove them

Maybe it's a good idea. But then I'd have to learn how to use Github.

Some years ago I created some projects but now I have forgotten the little I knew about it.

Re: Fewer and Fewer Spanish Subtitles

If I'm not wrong Spanish is the second language in number of subtitles.

Try searching for subtitles in Latvian, for example. Less than 1000, that's few.

Re: duplicated files in ZIP

Because they are wrong. The two files in the ZIP have the same name, so you have to GUESS which of them is part 1 and which is part 2 and rename them properly.

Re: duplicated files in ZIP

No problem with me. I can rename those files while extracting. The quiestion, I insist, is whether we should report them as bad or not.

Another one:

https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... l-house-es

The question is what to do in these cases. Should I mark them as bad or what?

Re: How to delete part of text in another language from a file?

If you give me a URL where I can download the file, I could do it myself. With a decent text editor you can do it easily.

Re: aggressive atitude on this website

I have made a search on opensubtitles.org in order to download a non hearing impaired version to use it for my translation. I only found subtitles in other languages, not english. I found this weird.

Re: How do people decide which subtitle file to use ?

I've had the same question for years and still have it unanswered. There are many things to consider here. First of all you must find a subtitle that matches the video. This is not trivial because videos can suffer multiple transformations mainly affecting its reproduction speed so that your video i...

duplicated files in ZIP

Hello. I was wondering how can this be. I always use the web interface and some ZIP files have duplicated files in them. I.e. the ZIP file contains 2 subtitle files with the same name. It is already weird that you can store 2 different files with the same name (path) in the ZIP. In the list they app...

Re: are subtitle dump files still available?

May I give my opinion on this subject? I can't figure why anyone would want to download the whole database. First of all there is the problem of synchronisation. Once you've finished downloading, the next minute it will be outdated because you don't get the uploads. Second, you are talking about mon...

Yes. When I saw him I thought, "Hey, what´s doing this guy in my code? I don't remember him. Bugs don't usually wear sunglasses"

There seems to be not many people interested anyway :)

Re: embedded subtitles and how to remove them

But words and thoughts are not very useful if they are not brought to life. So here is the piece of code that does the trick. It seems you can't attach text files here so I simply paste it here. Feel free to ask for help to make it work but if you use MS Windows just don't bother becasue I probably ...

Re: embedded subtitles and how to remove them

As i said, the matching SRT available... let's say every 9 of 10. But yes, sometimes there's nowhere to find it. And yes, I was wondering how to get the timings and text of hardcoded subs. Now I'm doing it by hand. Too much time. It would be great to have those tools. Ideally you should avoid the SR...

Re: Opensubtitles not working on all my Devices

I often get some error message saying "Backend fetch failed", "we lost connection with database", "internal server error" and a code, 500 or 505, I don't quite remember. Sometimes it lasts for hours. Then the only thing to do is try to connect the next day. But this has...
