Re: My first upload

Another question: When I upload a subtitle, how may I put the name of several film versions in the "movie filenames". When I upload, the field "movie filenames" is always absent. To be exact, " release name " can be filled out manually by the uploader. Typically this i...

Re: Translate subtitles?

Hello Anna, Subtitles are not made by opensubtitles.org but by the USERS of opensubtitles.org. The reason that there are subs available in Portugese and in Spanish but not in English is simply that somebody made Pt and Sp subtitles, but nobody made English subs (yet). Further, subtitles can be made ...

Re: API Request: SearchBestSubtitle

I understand what you are saying about rating and 'personality' of some user. Including rating a value of '10'. In that sense "9" means more than "10", but I do think it still has SOME meaning. That's why I think rating by multiple users should have (much) more meaning. The same ...

Re: API Request: SearchBestSubtitle

Sounds good. Some additional thoughts: - Exclude not only "bad' subtitles, but also machine translated subs. - Subs uploaded by Trusted or Admin +1 - Featured subs +1 - Newer subtitles could be better, but not necessarily. So maybe something like if upload date is >60 days after any other uploa...

Re: Subtitling Editor needed

Maybe you can be a bit more specific? What is your project? Can you show anything? Which other languages do you need? What is the originally spoken language? Any clue about the proportion of things? Are we talking about a 10 minute piece with little spoken text, or a three hour documentary with rapi...

Re: Subtitles with bad timings

For the exact difference 23,976 vs 25 fps, my wild guess is some mistake during the process of ripping or converting.
And yeah, it would be better if no mistakes were made anymore, but... welcome to life ;-)

Re: splitsen series/films

Re: Subtitles with bad timings

I love your mathematics, hector. Or should I say Dr Hector ;-) My point was mainly that it could be anything. But yeah, in a case where 6600 seconds became exactly 6329, I think we can assume somebody did something funny with the frame rate, you are right. And then also the subs could easily be adju...

Re: Subtitles with bad timings

I also wonder how a movie of 1:50 can become 1:44. Rambo will sound like Donald Duck. I don't have an answer to that. Except that time differences COULD come from stripping the intro and/or the end credits.

And yeah, give us some jungle ;-)
