I didn't noticed it before, but I have the same problem: no dropdownfield for change the language. It's stuck on my own language.
I use FF 45.0 and have nothing changed in the last days.

As far as I know does that none of the subtitle-editors.
Therefore, step 1 is the transfer of the movie to your hard drive, for instance with MakeMKV,
step 2 the demuxing of the sub-track with mkvextract, step 3 the OCR with SubExtractor.

And if you do OCR for subtitles yourself you can use a program called SubExtractor.
It's avoiding these error when you trained it right.

Meanwhile (over 1 1/2 years ago) I changed to DvdSubExtractor with best results. The handling is a little different from other mentioned programs.
