Re: MACHINE TRANSLATION NOTICE!

@DatDudeCee 1. You don't have to SHOUT. We can also read normal writing quite well. 2. What I did was took the bulk of the work out of a professional translators hands and basically opened it up for ANYONE who could write Dutch to correct and repair errors in Grammar, Sentence Structure, and Contex...

Re: stop removing every freakin comment people make om subtitles

I will stop all activity indefinitely for as long as SmallBrother is admin for the Dutch section. Dude, really? Blackmail only works when there is someone to blackmail. Do you think you can cause SmallBrother to give up his role as SiteAdmin with such childish behavior? SmallBrother really takes a ...

Re: Is everyone deaf?

How dense are the uploaders that they don't realize this? Just how stupid do you have to be to not understand this problem that almost all movie watchers face? Control yourself a little. It may not be the best way to ask for something in that tone. Especially not if you have neither understood the ...

Re: sub/idx 2 srt

I would think this is simple done with Edit/Replace . In my SubtitleEditor is this one of many automatic error corrections, if I wish to use it. https://abload.de/img/subede1wjpz.png But because the question marks were contained in the idx/sub, I left them in the srt. Since I didn't know the video, ...

Re: sub/idx 2 srt

Yes, it is. For the reasons I use it see here: https://forum.opensubtitles.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14622&p=33062&hilit=DVDSubExtractor#p33062 The usage is actually self-explanatory for every step in the right section of the program. In a nutshell: 1. File/Open SubtitleFile --> Browse -->...

Re: sub/idx 2 srt

Here you are: https://www.opensubtitles.org/de/subtitles/8270364/rameses-wrath-of-god-or-man-en It took less than 4 minutes OCR with a well trained DVDSubExtractor and 10 minutes for error corrections with the Subtitle Editor. The only thing I don't like are the multiple question marks at some place...

Re: CC from YouTube videos

Hi mvivar, thanks for your help. To correct this, you need to take the begining of second line, substract about 100 ms and use it as ending of the first line. And then the 3rd for 2nd and so on. I have a google spreadsheet that does that for me. That sounds interesting. Could you provide this spread...

Re: How do I make an SRT file from a DVD?

download MKVCleaver, with this tool you can rip the proper .srt file from the video file
1.) MKVCleaver is just a gui for MKVToolnix e. g. mkvextract and not an independent tool.

2.) a DVD contains no .srt files but vobsub files e.g. idx/sub files. You have to run an ocr to change the format.

Re: How do I make an SRT file from a DVD?

First you must rip out the .sub from a DVD or the .sup from a BD and then in another step change the format. 1. Take MakeMKV to rip the disc on your harddrive. 2. Take mkvextract (it's part of the MKVToolnix package) to demux the sub/sup from the movie. 3. Take DVDSubExtractor to run an ocr (optical...

No to both examples, suadnovic. It doesn't look better.
I agree with Martin and his explanations and try to handle it in German as well as possible.
