The reason is because there are different movie sources, for example dvd and blu-ray releases may have different subtitles. You will need to try another subtitle. In addition to hash matching, would it be possible to match subtitles by video duration? Nice job, that makes sense. Please implement the movie length mechanism! I'm surprised no one is taking that approach, I'd definitely support your hash for that.
