Simple and clean interface :) Could you add an installer, please? NSIS is a good one and is free. I'm not entirely sure what you need an installer for. You just unpack the distribution archive and run the exe file, as simple as that. If I used an installer it would probably do just that anyway, not...

If all the AVI files have been created by you it's highly likely that you won't find any subtitles for them as the video hash will be different from any of the scene release video files that are usually matched to subtitle files here. the only way to deal with this is to search using IMDb ID and the...

Enhanced XML-RPC documentation

hi, just started a new 'enhanced' documentation of the XML-RPC API, using your provided examples. Hope you don't mind. ;) I have most (95%) of the functions successfully implemented so I'll add all the missing examples along the way. take a look at the current status here: http://trac.opensubtitles....

On the way ... :)

A command-line tool (for Windows only) is currently in development and should be ready for beta testing within the next few weeks.

I'll look into it ...

ok, I'll look into it. in the meantime, please, also make sure your preferences are saved, i.e. check 'oscar.ini' to see if your login credentials are stored in SERVERS section. If not try pressing the 'Save' button in 'Preferences'. also check the 'Log' tab. Attempts to login (and get token) should...

Re: Anonymus

Hi, people. Why OSCAR uploads all the subs with "Anonymus" as user? I manually log with my own user ID/Password (without problems), but the sub's details remain unchangeable. Any hint, please. jugaor Make sure you set your 'User' and 'Password' in the 'Preferences' tab. Logging into the w...

here are a few answers to deafff: - I intentionally left out search by movie/file name 'cos those searches (in my opinion) only produce lots of unusable results. Nevertheless I agree an option to search subtitles without using the hash matching is useful. To do this you have the right-click menu opt...

Re: version checker

Hi, An easy to implement and usefull feature would be: 'Is there a newer version of Oscar?' Will you please do it? this feature is already implemented, it just isn't called periodically/automatically. You can access it in the 'Preferences' tab, in the toolbar on the right side. Oscar development is...

g2v10.1

I just released a quick bug-fix release, g2v10.1 ... fixes the hash calculation bug for files 4GB+ and some strange behavior introduced in g2v10 with sorting (this has been disabled for the time being).

See the first post for more info.

sorry

Sorry, there was a bug in the hash calculation function that would cause incorrect hashes for files larger than 4GB. It's fixed now, available in the next release.

More info to come soon.

Oscar uses the same hash algorithm as Subdownloader, only a different programming language implementation. If Oscar can't find subtitles for MKV videos uploaded by Subdownloader, it's highly probable that these two algorithms are not compatible (in certain cases, they were the same in all test cases...

agreed ...

I agree this is a nice feature for those who actually play video files directly from inside the RAR archives. I just currently don't find it that attractive and consider it too complicated to implement at first glance. Feel free to insert this feature request as a ticket in the Oscar trac at http://...

Oscar g2v10

There were quite a few changes in this release, so bugs might have been introduced. Let me know if you find any...

To clarify ...

When uploading subtitles two checks are made on the server: - first a subtitle hash check is performed to see if it's already stored on the server (prevent duplicates) - second if subtitle is found an additional check is made to see if the subtitle is already matched with your uploaded movie file ha...
